28inch sighted octagonal barrel with full length tube magazine, fitted with rear ladder sights and stamped with the manufacturer's details WINCHESTER REPEATING-ARMS NEW HAVEN CT over KING'S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29 1866, OCTOBER 16 1860, the steel action stamped with the serial no. 53563 for 1886 to the lower tang, the top tang stamped Model 1876, half stocked with steel and brass mounts, the butt plate with empty cleaning rod trap.
