AN EDO PERIOD JAPANESE SAMURAI ARMOUR

thirty two plate russet iron hoshi-bachi kabuto signed inside Myochin Kuni Ju then illegible, roped white metal trim to the base, seven-stage tehan kanemono of pierced and shaped copper gilt plates, leather covered mabizashi with printed floral design and retained with white metal flowerheads, red lacquered to the reverse, foliate pierced kuwagata dai decorated with chrysanthemum and applied with three white metal characters, lacquered maidate carved with a coiled dragon and ken (some damage), russet iron mempo, nose lacking, red lacquered to the reverse and with four lame kebiki laced kozane yodarekake with pierced copper gilt trim, the black lacquered nodawa decorated to match, black lacquered kebiki laved kozane do with five lame kusazuri, gold lacquered leather liner.
