At Antony Cribb we offer what I believe is the best possible platform for buying that missing piece from your collection.
I promise you I am not here to "sell" anything. I have lost count of the number of times clients have called for condition reports on this pistol or that sword and my first response is this isn't the one for you.
Call me, let me know what you are looking for, does your Sea Service pistol have to be "unissued" with no blemishes to the stock, or would "an example" be sufficient?
I don't want you to pay too much for something that doesn't fit your criteria. It may mean you have to wait until another auction but there are plenty of clients out there who have been told "this is the one for you".
I have been around this market long enough to have heard people describing an item as "mint" when actually it is about 85%. To me "mint" means like the day it left the factory or workshop and if it isn't I'll tell you its 98% or 90% or indeed if it has been refinished, buffed or restored.
You can talk to someone who not only knows what they are looking at but can tell you its level of condition. There is nothing more I love than to tell someone to "buy it", but really, at the end of the day the best thing is just to be truthful.
You are more than welcome to leave commission bids on one of our Arms and Armour Auctions by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or via the-saleroom.com, alternatively you can bid live via the-saleroom.com. If you are a bit of a traditionalist then we can always arrange a telephone bid for you.
Oh, and one last thing, because we are outside London we have kept our buyers premium at what we hope you will agree is a competitive 22% +VAT.
