AN ORNATE FRENCH NAPOLEONIC OFFICER'S SABRE

84cm double fullered blade with clipped back point etched and gilt against a blued ground with foliage and trophies of arms, brass mounted hilt with forward facing lion's head pommel, the knuckle guard cast with scrolls, the langet with a trophy of arms, finely chequered ebony grip, contained in its steel scabbard with large ornate gilt brass mounts decorated with the Imperial Eagle, classical figure, trophies of arms and foliage. Bears a set of initials to the scabbard throat FAG.
