A 17TH CENTURY ENGLISH CIVIL WAR PERIOD MORTUARY HILTED BACK SWORD

84cm blade double edged towards the tip, incised HUFT to one side and HUAT to the other flanked by geometric curves, characteristic pierced hilt decorated with scrolls and opposing Green Man masks to the underside, D-shaped knuckle guard with two side bars united by scroll supports, spherical pommel incised with leaves, plain wooden grip. One side bar foot lacking.
