A .54 CALIBRE MASSACHUSETTS ARMS CO. GREEN'S PATENT CAPPING BREECH LOADING CARBINE
18inch three-stage sighted barrel fitted with rear ladder sights and bearing Sold out of Service marks to the left side of the barrel, the tang stamped with GREEN'S PATENT details, bevelled lock stamped with a crown over VR and the MASS. ARMS Co. stamp, fitted with a MAYNARD's PATENT tape primer, the wooden butt with steel mounts, patch box and stamped A 19 over RDMR for A Troop Royal Devon Mounted Rifles. For a similar example, marked to F Troop RDMR see Antony Cribb Ltd Lot 177 14th November 2023 sold for £1500.
