AN 18TH CENTURY ENGLISH SILVER HILTED SMALL SWORD

78.5cm triangular section incurved blade decorated with scrolling foliage and strapwork at the forte, characteristic hilt with upturned shell guard, the D-shaped knuckle guard with maker's stamp HB (Henry Bodker), spherical pommel, plain wooden grip. Circa 1730. See London Silver Hilted Swords by Leslie Southwick Pg. 279 Plate 29 for a similar example.
