A GOOD SUDANESE CHIEF'S MASSIVE KASKARA OR SWORD

wide 94cm double edged blade, the grip wrapped in silver coloured sheeting depicting shooting stars, large cartwheel pommel engraved with foliage, contained in its tooled brown leather scabbard with silver coloured chape and suspension rings, with matching leather shoulder belt, together with the original owner's leather woven sash. Found by Lt. Colonel F.M. Hext after the Battle of Tamai. (3)
