MORTIMER & SON LONDON GUN MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY, rain proof pans, folding triggers, sliding safeties engaging both the cock and the frizzen, slab sided wooden butts, each set with a rectangular white metal escutcheon with clipped corners and engraved with the owner's crest (Talbot), motto and initials JH. Formed as Thomas Mortimer & Son in 1807 and died in 1824.
