Co. and with a crown over VR at the tail, the full figured stock fitted with a mounting plate for a match sight, regulation brass and steel mounts, chequered fore-end and wrist, steel ramrod. Only about 1,000 were made over a three year period, this example falling in the 400 range. It is interesting to note that 20 rifles, like this example, with brass butts and trigger guards, chequered fore-ends and wrists were sent to the Confederate army for issues to sharpshooters. Clean bore.
