46.5inch sighted barrel, stepped lock marked INO below the pan and with a small Fleur de Lys at the tail, the left side of the barrel stamped E C with a further Fleur de Lys in between, full stocked with iron mounts, sling ring mounted behind the sideplate and on the middle barrel band. See Boudriot No.2 C.10 Pl. 4. Its discovery in Britain may suggest that this is one of the 1,500 firelocks sent by the French Government, with Charles Stuart aboard the French ship Le du Teillay in July 1745 to arm his Jacobite Highland supporters.
