THE WORLD WAR TWO DENISON SMOCK OF MAJOR-GENERAL C. W. B. PURDON CBE MC

of regulation camouflage cloth with half zip to the front and Newey studs to the flapped pockets. General fading, small hole to one sleeve and cuff parting on the other. Purdon famously took part in the raid on St Nazaire and was awarded the Military Cross during that operation. Wounded trying to break out of the dock area in St Nazaire Purdon was captured and imprisoned. Escaping then recaptured Purdon saw the war our in the confines of Colditz Castle.
