the green cloth body with white metal mounts, crowned rayed star helmet plate with central garter HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE, gilt metal dragon centered, laurel wreath surround applied with gilt regimental title in banner form, fluted white metal spike finial with quatrefoil base with rosette topped rivets, rosette bosses, velvet backed chinchain, the interior with leather and silk liner, the former with inked name Capt A. H. Verity, in its japanned storage tin named to Captain Verity Monmouth Rifle Volunteers. Localised insect damage.
