A 1796 PATTERN HEAVY CAVALRY OFFICER'S LADDER HILT SWORD

86.5cm blade decorated with stands of arms, flowers of the Union, a mounted cavalry officer, crowned Royal arms and crowned GR cypher, all highlighted in gilt on a blued ground, regulation pierced steel hilt, wire bound leather covered wooden grip, contained in its steel scabbard, complete with rare red cloth faced chamois liner and bullion and buff leather knot. One scabbard ring lacking.
