A 1796 PATTERN HEAVY CAVALRY TROOPER'S SWORD

87.5cm service sharpened blade with modified spear point stamped with an inspector's mark, regulation steel hilt, the knuckle guard engraved RD, E32, inner langet removed, ribbed leather covered grip, contained in its steel scabbard, dented, stamped Woolley Deakin Dutton & Johnson. The Royal Dragoons served in the Peninsular and in the famous Union Charge at Waterloo. The modification to the blade conforms to the order given to the troopers on the eve of Waterloo.
