A VERY RARE FRENCH AN XIII CUIRASSIER'S (LA CAVALERIE DE LIGNE) SWORD

97cm fullered AN IV Dragoon blade stamped with a fasces and AR (Atilier Republican) to the right side, regulation four-bar brass hilt stamped VERSAILLES, wire bound leather grip, contained in its very rare original heavy scabbard. See Aries No. 4 1967 No.s 4,11 &12. It is almost certain that this is one of the swords produced at the Versailles factory during the emergency production run during the 100 day return of Napoleon from Elba and just prior to Waterloo.
