A CAVALRY OFFICER'S SWORD WITH TROPHY BLADE

80.25cm sharply curved blade acid etched to represent damascus, regulation gilt hilt with two-piece riveted ivory grip scales, in its steel scabbard, this with old engraved metal tag Sword of Dooijun Saul Usurper of Bhurtpooi taken from his as he was captured by the cavalry (My Cousins Troop) after an exciting chase of several miles on the 18th of January 1826, a further inscription suggest The Work of Assad Allah of Ispahan J.C. Vigors 1870. The assertion that this is a sword by Assad Allah is misplaced given the blade is etched as opposed to wootz damascus. Ivory declaration submission number SX5D7FC5.
