83cm curved clipped back blade etched with scrolling foliage, crowned VR cypher, laurel wreaths, crossed sword and baton and J.A.S. FAULKNOR in scroll banner form, further etched at the forte LIEUT GENL FAULKNOR, regulation gilt hilt, the crossguard chased with rank insignia within a wreath, two-piece foliate riveted ivory grips, in its brass scabbard, complete with bullion knot. Faulknor served with the 6th Bombay Native Infantry in the Scinde, Afghanistan and the Indian Mutiny.
