88cm blade by Wilkinson, serial no. 43173 for 1911 etched with scrolling foliage, crowned GVR cypher, crowned regimental badge and title, owner's initials, regulation pierced steel patent solid hilt, chequered hard rubber grip, contained in its steel scabbard, contained in its field service scabbard. The sword of P.M. Cropper Esquire, mentioned in dispatches for service in Mesopotamia.
