AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY SPANISH OFFICER'S RAPIER

100.5cm flattened diamond section blade incised with a panel of wriggle work interspersed with dots and with cross form terminals on either side, characteristic hilt with deep bowl guard with turned rim, some perforation, elongated quillons flaring to the ring turned terminals. D-shaped knuckle guard with ring turned terminal and midpoint, flattened hexagonal pommel brass wire bound wooden grip with turk's heads.
