74cm blade etched with trophies of arms and foliage against a blued ground and retaining some gilt decoration, brass hilt with pommel with chiselled decoration, plain knuckle guard, the langets with anchors, flags and the head of Minerva, diagonally fluted ebony grip, contained in its leather covered wooden scabbard with brass mounts, the locket embossed with a mermaid, foliage and a shell, twin suspension hooks, the chape with shell terminal.
