the two-piece riveted light weight skull with radiating ribs, the pivoting peak with turned edge and struck with a winged skull form maker's mark, pivoting peaked visor, face defence pierced with breaths to either side, the lower face defence secured by a hook and eye to the right side, the collar with turned edge, plume holder to the rear, original blacked finish over all. Small perforation to the left side of the skull, nibbling and losses to the peak and collar and one contemporary repair to the latter. Circa 1620.
