A VERY RARE 18TH CENTURY 1ST TROOP OF THE HORSE GUARDS OFFICER'S BACK SWORD

81cm fullered blade, half-basket hilt with large pierced scallop-form fore-guard and matching smaller rear guard, pierced D-shaped knuckle guard decorated to match and supported by scroll supports, large bold lion's head pommel, wire bound grip with turk's heads, contained in its leather wrapped wooden scabbard, later chape and throat lacking.
