A LATE 16TH OR EARLY 17TH CENTURY SOUTHERN INDIAN SWORD OR RAPIER

87.5cm tapering blade with raised medial ridge and drawn out to an armour piercing tip, the forte with foliate chiselled reinforcing strap, characteristic hilt with broad upturned guard, urn-form grip, the winged pommel with foliate chiselled reinforce.
