A LARGE VICTORIAN SPORTSMAN'S POCKET KNIFE WITH CARTRIDGE EXTRACTOR

12cm blade with maker's panel for RODGERS cutlers to her majesty, large sprung cartridge extractor and five further fold out tools, integral to the alloy scales, tweezers, large pricker or needle and scissors, engraved with the owner's name F. De S. Shortt. Francis de Sausmarez Shortt served with the Black Watch in Egypt as a Corporal before being promoted to Lieutenant then Captain with the Manchester Regiment then the Royal Scots and seeing service in India then South Africa before retiring as a Major in the early 1900's.
