A VICTORIAN SCOTTISH OFFICER'S DIRK TO THE HIGHLAND LIGHT INFANTRY
28.5cm clean double fullered blade with faceted back edge, decorated with thistles, regimental badges and motifs, maker's panel for WILLIAM ALEXANDER & SON GLASGOW, regulation gilt mounted hilt decorated with thistles, the pommel set with a faceted orange stone, carved basket weave wooden grip set with yellow metal studs, in its gilt mounted leather wrapped wooden scabbard, the former decorated with thistles and the throat applied with the regimental badge, complete with a companion bi-knife and fork. Blade retains virtually all of its original polish, one grey stain, the knife and fork retaining more gilt to the mounts.
