A CASED PAIR OF .650 CALIBRE FLINTLOCK OFFICER'S OR CITY PISTOLS BY JAMES WILKINSON

9inch barrels with octagonal breeches engraved LONDON, the tangs decorated with a stylized stand of arms, case colour hardened stepped locks with roller frizzens and signed JAS WILKINSON, full varnished stocks with brass mounts, the trigger guards engraved with a floral spray and a shield bearing the Union flag, pineapple finials, horn topped wooden ramrods, contained in their green cloth lined mahogany case compete with commensurate accessories, the case modified to allow the pistols to be stored loaded and cocked, the outside of the lid with brass escutcheon engraved H. JENNER ESQR. The Wilkinson register shows these pistols to have been completed on the 13th June 1811. These guns appear to have had little, if any, use, with faded brown and case colour throughout.
